Cogitation of Incompleteness in the midst of Imputation in Longitudinal Surveys for Population Mean

چکیده
Encountering non-response is quite prone in sample surveys however smart be the design, which sours the analysis and hence the results. An effort has been made to exploit the non-response by using a completely fresh approach of imputation technique to estimate the population mean in two occasion successive sampling, utilizing completely known auxiliary information which is dynamic in nature and pronto over the occasions. The properties of proposed estimator have been analysed. Various cases in which non-response may creep are discussed. Extensive simulation algorithms have been designed and are applied to justify the theoretical results. Keywords— Imputation; Non-Response; Dynamic Auxiliary Information; Successive Sampling; Exponential Type Estimators; Mean Squared Error; Bias; Optimum Replacement Strategy.

Background and Objectives: A major challenge that affects the longitudinal studies is the problem of missing data. Missing in the data may result in the loss of part of the information which reduces the accuracy of the estimator and obtain the results will be biased and inaccurate. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the missing data mechanism from a longitudinal research and to consider thi...
متن کاملEffect of Reference Population Size and Imputation Methods on the Accuracy of Imputation in Pure and Mixed Populations
Imputation as a method of creating low-density chips to high-density chips has been introduced to increase the accuracy of genomic selection in animals. In the current study, to investing imputation accuracy, three populations of mixed (scenario 1), pure (scenario 2) and mixed + pure (scenario 3) were simulated using QMSim. Two methods of imputation including Beagle and Flmpute were used fo...
متن کاملEffect of Measurement Errors on a Class of Estimators of Population Mean Using Auxiliary Information in Sample Surveys
We consider the problem of estimation the population mean of the study variate Y in presence of measurement errors when information on an auxiliary character X is known. A class of estimators for population means using information on an auxiliary variate X is defined. Expressions for its asymptotic bias and mean square error are obtained. Optimum conditions are obtained for which the mean...
متن کاملEstimating Variance of the Sample Mean in Two-phase Sampling with Unit Non-response Effect
In sample surveys, we always deal with two types of errors: Sampling error and non-sampling error. One of the most common non-sampling errors is nonresponse. This error happens when some sample units are not observed or viewed but they do not answer some of the questions. The complete prevention of this error is not possible, but it can be significantly reduced. The non-response causes bias and ...
متن کاملEstimation of genotype imputation accuracy using reference populations with varying degrees of relationship and marker density panel
Genotype imputation from low-density to high-density (SNP) chips is an important step before applying genomic selection, because denser chips can provide more reliable genomic predictions. In the current research, the accuracy of genotype imputation from low and moderate-density panels (5K and 50K) to high-density panels in the purebred and crossbred populations was assessed. The simulated popu...
